Facial Hair Remover

A lot of women have unwanted facial hair. Removing it can be a real problem since the face is one of the most sensitive areas. Facial hair is fine and is almost unnoticeable. It can be seen on the upper lip, chin, jaw and forehead. The problem is excessive facial hair growth or dark facial hair. Fortunately, there are a variety of facial hair removers widely available today.

Waxing is one of the most common and convenient facial hair removers out there. This is done by applying melted wax on the facial area with excessive hair. A wax strip is then pressed on top of the wax. The hair attaches to the wax. The strip is then pulled off quickly in the opposite direction to the hair growth, pulling the hair out. You can achieve smooth results quickly and easily with waxing.

Shaving is another effective facial hair remover although most suited to men. The process is simple, quick and very cheap. The problem is the result does not last that long and new hair growth appears thicker and more visible than before. Shaving may cause irritation and leaves you with a masculine look. If you really want to shave your facial hair, do not do it on dry skin, apply moisturizer on the area before shaving.

Tweezing is the best way to pull out small hair follicles. Though time consuming and needs a lot of practice, you can make the process easier by washing your face with warm water before tweezing. This will soften the skin and open up the pores. Tweezing offers you hair free skin that lasts for two to six weeks.  Realistically this is only suitable for small areas such as eyebrows.

Depilatory creams use sodium, calcium hydroxide or calcium thioglycolate to dissolve hair. Results can last for a few days only since hair is only dissolved from the surface. To avoid skin irritation or allergies, apply a patch test of the cream on the skin first.

Electrolysis is one of the permanent hair removal methods used these days. Hair follicles are destroyed by electric shock and after several sessions the area will become permanently hair free. Electrolysis is more expensive than the methods mentioned above but does give permanent results. You will need the treatment to be carried out by a trained operative in a clinic.

Laser treatment is the best hair remover available today. This works by flashing a laser beam at a normal interval over the hair growth to kill the hair follicle. Laser treatments are best for people with light skin color and dark hair. To avoid burns and scars, only a trained professional should do this procedure. The results could last for six months to one year.

If you are looking for a method to remove facial hair, take time to learn which is most suitable for your skin and lifestyle.
